Wine Opinion LLC is a wine market research company that performs research services for wineries, wine marketing companies, and wine trade associations. We maintain panels of members of the U.S. wine trade and U.S. wine enthusiasts who are offered opportunities to take online surveys, or to participate in online or in person focus groups or interviews. We respect and preserve the privacy of any data provided to us by our panel members either through online surveys or discussion groups, or by direct exchanges with us via email, phone, or any other means of communication.
Data We Collect
We collect the email addresses of those who join our trade or consumer panels as well as demographic data (such as age, gender, state or city of residence, frequency of wine consumption, frequency of wine purchase by price segment, etc.) in the course of conducting surveys for our clients. Any demographic data collected is reported to our clients only in aggregate and is not linked to an email address, name, or any other personal data.
We also analyze traffic to our WineOpinion.com website from time to time.
How We Use the Data
We do not share with our clients or any third party the email addresses we collect. We use the demographic data we collect in surveys, and any of the other data on respondent behaviors, tastes, preferences, etc. to report in aggregate the results of a survey to our clients.
Sharing with Third Parties
Wine Opinion does not sell, trade, or otherwise give the email addresses of panel members to any other party.
Emails from Wine Opinion
Surveys and other opportunities to participate in Wine Opinion research projects are offered to our panel members through email newsletters. Newsletters are also sent as survey reminders (only to those who received a survey invitation and did not open that invitation). No more than two reminders are ever sent following the launch of a survey.
Newsletters are sent to all panel members to announce the winners of the cash awards that are determined by random drawings among all panel members who participate in a research project. Winners are notified by direct email and are asked to provide their names and addresses for the purpose of sending a check to them to fulfill their award. Award winners may choose to remain anonymous in the email announcing awards, or they may choose to allow their first name and city of residence to be included in the awards announcement newsletters.
Every email from Wine Opinion contains an “unsubscribe” link, which, if selected, removes an email address from future mailing from Wine Opinion. Panel members may also opt out of our database or update their email addresses by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by sending us a message on the “Contact” page of our website at this link: https://wineopinions.com/contact/
Access to Information About You
